Tau Beta Pi is the only engineering honor society representing the entire engineering profession. It is the nation's second-oldest honor society, founded at Lehigh University in 1885 to recognize students of distinguished scholarship and exemplary character. There are collegiate chapters at 232 US colleges and universities, active alumnus chapters in 16 districts across the country, and a total initiated membership of 491,241.
Founded in 1930, Pennsylvania Zeta is the Tau Beta Pi chapter at Drexel University. Juniors and Seniors from approved curricula of the College of Engineering and the School of Biomedical Engineering, Science and Health Systems who meet the requirements of academic excellence and exemplary character are eligible to be elected into the Pennsylvania Zeta Chapter of Tau Beta Pi.
